Valentines Day Gift Guide

If reading my ‘5 steps to your best Valentines day‘ post has left you wanting more, then you’re in luck!  I have a few gems, both classic and slightly outside of the box that I would like to share with you.  This guide is mostly gloriously decadent, but I have thrown in some non-edibles for the health conscious among you. The classic.  Whether buying for a loved one of for yourself, February the 14th is the calenders get out clause to your post Christmas diet.  What can I say, blame Saint V. For the person who works long hours.  Who […]

5 Steps To Your Best Ever Valentines Day

That’s right folks, Valentines is not just for couples!  For the 3 years I was single I avoided Valentines like the plague, purporting that it was just an opportunity for the card companies to make money.  While this may be true to an extent, I think that a once a year reminder year to show love to those that matter can’t be a bad thing.  Whoever the important people are in your life, why not take a day, or an evening to show them how much they mean to you.  Remember, you are one of those important people and should […]

Pampered pets and fussy felines: A Tail of Two Kitties

They say a picture tells a thousand words, and this is most certainly true with the lineup I have for you today.  Moo and Shannon are 2 year old kitties, and we love them to bits.  This does mean they are a little spoiled – but what can you do – they’re too cute! This lovely lot was sent to Shannon and Moo by petshopbowl.co.uk After scuppering their efforts to break into the box, it was only fair to give them a handful of the Canagan Grain-Free cat food.  You can buy just about anything in this online store and get […]

Sharing the love: live and let live – an end to discrimination and hatred – one person at a time #motivationalmonday

Happy Monday lovelies!  For our last Monday in February – our month to show and share our love, I really want to go a little further afield.  Outside the home, outside our country and across the globe.  Don’t stop reading just yet – I’m not proposing a movement or a mass love in, just a little tolerance. Here’s the good news: peoples attitudes to diversity are slowly changing.  Whether you’re championing your own cause, such as disability or special needs, or another more personal to yourself, it is a rare person that doesn’t have a ’cause’ that’s close to their […]

I Promise…to love you for the rest of my life: Valentines gift from the heart

For me, I Promise is really summed up by the above photo.  You know me, I’m all about the love – which is probably pretty sickening to any single readers who get assaulted by happy couples this time of year (I’m sorry!).  I’ve been baking, crafting and buying Valentines for the last month – which I have thoroughly enjoyed – but for me, it’s about what it boils down to; the special people in our lives and the reasons they are there.  Enter I Promise… I’ll only be showing you snippets of my own version, as J has become a […]

Listening to my body and asking for help – being kind to me #motivationalmonday

Hey guys – happy Monday!  I’ve been a little under the weather lately – so apologies for the late post.  A burst of productivity last week meant that I was able to get some blogging done and schedule some posts during the week, but I’ve now caught up with myself.  I know in previous posts I have mentioned tests etc going on at the moment.  They are, more than anything because I have no idea what is going on with my body, so the professionals have been sent in, so to speak.  The problem with having several co-morbid conditions (conditions […]

Me and you: me and J – how it all started

As regular readers will know, I am marrying the man of my dreams in August of this year.  Half of me can’t wait, and half of me is scared stiff.  Both of us are fairly quiet introverted people who don’t like the spotlight, so a wedding kind of goes against the grain a little.  What trumps that is that we love each other to bits and want to get married, so we’ve both decided to suck it up, so to speak. When I saw the Me and You linky over at Tigerlilly Quinn, I knew it was the perfect opportunity […]

Mummy son time: so precious!

As any regular readers will know, I am blessed with two beautiful children – my pigeon pair, Cameron and Jessica.  Jess is 11 and a pretty regular guest on my blog, as we do so many fun activities together from baking to crafts to manicures.  Cameron is usually featured in the back of photos, playing on the Xbox with friends.  It’s a good trade off, because we get to craft and make delicious things for him and his friends to munch, and he gets to do what interests him. My two with Moo the cat I won’t go on to […]

Lets talk about pets baby: fussy felines – cat litter for kittens and beyond

Anyone over 30 will get other obscure reference in the title of my new series.  Anyone under 30…ask your Mum.  Kidding of course – doesn’t everyone love Salt and Peppa?  They would actually be really good pet names, perhaps for a pair of Caveys (I can never remember how to spell guinea pig – thank you spell check). So, it’s pretty clear that the world is full of pet lovers.  Some cat people, some dog people, some fish people, but there is a good reason that pet care is a hugely growing industry.  We love our pets – and why […]
