Picture the most glamorous catwalk you have even seen, inside the prestigious Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge. Add stars, dancers, music and the most inspirational stories you have ever heard (along with some of the more inspirational people you have ever seen) and you have the Wear it For Autism (WIFA) fashion show – the brainchild of Anna Kennedy OBE. Anna herself is perhaps one of the most warm and personable people you could wish to meet, along with being funny, talented and a stone cold fox. Believe me, the photos speak for themselves. Anna is pictured here with fashion stylist to […]
There are some things to moan about as we mourn the death of summer and the advent of autumn and winter, but I think we made the most of it. Bikinis, beaches and cold cold beers were great, but Autumn has it’s perks. Jumping into a pile of crunchy leaves in your duffle coat and hat, followed by home and hot chocolate and snuggling in your onesie. I for one can’t think of a more quintessentially Autumnal scene. I finally did it. After months of insisting that onesies are for toddlers and that everyone had lost their mind, I drank […]
A little taste of the amazing Wear is for Autism fashion show in aid of Anna Kennedy online. Full post to follow.
Well space fans, after an idyllic honeymoon with my hubby, it’s now back to real life. Though not quite sipping virgin cocktails by the pool, it certainly had it’s merits. After being struck by the muse at about 11pm yesterday, I started sorting things out, going through my inbox, and actually getting very genuinely excited about the coming three months. In bed at just after 3am with hubby snoring away next to me, I have been cooking up a cavalcade of fun, food, fashion, family for the new season. I won’t give to much away, but I can promise you: […]
What do a group of enthusiastic mums, an amputee cyclist, and an able bodied guy in a wheelchair have in common? While this might sound like the start of a very bad joke, it is actually the start of a very inspiring story documenting the changing faces of fundraising. Long gone are the days when we would sign a form and sponsor someone 10p to stay silent for the day, or go a month without washing their hair. Raising money for good causes has become sophisticated, streamlined and media heavy. This winning combination, plus 10’s of 1000’s of enthusiastic supporters […]
Any of my readers who read my recent post about the British Heart Foundation will have gathered that I really do love to support a good cause. I think that is true for most of us. With the economic climate as it is, and 1000’s of charities vying for our attention, it takes a special charity and a creative initiative to capture peoples attention. I am pleased to announce that a fresh new campaign from Escentual ticks all those boxes and more. I stumbled across this initiative on the gorgeous Miss Makeup Magpie’s fabulous blog, which is one of my […]
Happy monday lovelies! Despite the total absence of spring weather, it is once again that time of year where we feel compelled to wave our feather dusters and say goodbye to the stuffy trappings of winter. The proverbial ‘spring clean’ is a proud tradition whereby we make lists, and then go for a wander in the woods hoping that we may find some helpful wildlife to assist with the eponymous task. While we stare bewildered at our very long list while sipping tea and cursing Disney for giving us unrealistic expectations about the perks that come with title ‘domestic slave’, […]
