REAL Natural Beauty: Love Your Hair Banish Your Grey – Hair Colour

I LOVE natural beauty.  My body is so full of chemicals (medication) that I feel it’s only right to limit the amount of chemicals I put ON my body. Back in May, I had a run in with some very UNnatural hair colour, which was branded to make it seem gentle and nourishing (read full post here), but on closer inspection I found it was full of all sorts of nasty stuff.  I vowed it would be the last time put something on my hair or body without reading the label. My search for natural hair care was very […]

Rock Face Men’s Body & Skincare Range: A Mans Perspective – Male Grooming Guest Post

About a month ago, Vicky presented me with a big bundle of shower gels and things.  I know she’s always blogging about one product or another for girls, so I kind of understood, especially when the camera came out.  After making sure she wouldn’t be posting any pictures of me in the shower I agreed to give them a try. My first impressions were good.  I could see they were products for blokes, and none of them were too unusual.  I’m a typical man who doesn’t really use alot of different things in the bathroom, but shower gels, body sprays […]

Love me beauty box: January edition

After all the excitement of Christmas, January seems to have run away from me – so I am a little late with my Love Me beauty box lineup for January.  It is however, one I believe to be worth waiting for. I have to say I still finding it thrilling when the postman knocks on the door – and I know none of my bills are that big (though give Southern Electric time I’m sure they can change that).  It is Christmas morning type excitement, and not just because I fancy the postman (Bob is doing well for 63 I’ll […]

A lighthearted look at gender specific health, beauty haircare and makeup

In the beginning I have to confess that I did not even know what the word gender meant until I was in my first year of senior school, and I was handed a questionnaire with the mind-bending field emblazoned on it.  Had it been accompanied by the handy little M and F tick boxes, I might have had a clue.  As it was, I quite meekly approached the person handing out said questionnaires, and muttered ‘erm…what is this gen-dray (pronounced as such) thing’.  It was actually an older pupil and not a teacher, so after giving me a withering look […]

Love me beauty box: December edition is here

For anyone who was with me during the highs and, well highs of receiving my Love Me beauty box in November, it will be hard to believe it’s that time again already.  Ok, so not hard to believe it’s December, especially if you’ve braved the high street recently, but to believe that a month has more or less passed.  Where does the time go? I was apoplectic when my postie presented me with my box this month, and here are five reasons why. Of course I had chosen these little beauties myself on the website (see post on how it […]

Love me beauty box has arrived

I’m so excited….that I just can’t hide it…I’m about to lose control and I think I like it… Oh yeah! Ok that’s quite enough of that.  I do apologise my dears, but I really am excited to have received my Love Me beauty box, mentioned here earlier in the week. So without further adue, I present my lovely present to me, so I may share my enthusiasm with you all. Apologies for picture quality, I get hand tremors which give most of my photos a ‘soft focus’ type look, which is not what you want when you’re trying to showcase […]

Makeup free day aka Love Your Skin

I know it sounds scary, but hear me out… Alot of makeup is fabulously skin friendly these days – not like the pancake it used to be.  It is ultimately very wearable, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day if so desired.  The traditionalist in me however likes one makeup free day a week, just to give my skin a chance to breath. Focus on skincare Is a much less threatening descriptive term.  I like the chance to do a deep pore cleanse the evening before (especially as my skincare routine is a little….well…lazy), without loading in the makeup […]
