3 degrees of eyebrow: How to tap into the Big Brow Trend

Unless you’ve been holed up on a remote island for the last few years, you’ll have noticed that brows are back and brows are big.  Big brows are back.  Far removed from the 1990’s trend of a teeny thin arch of eyebrows, a full and natural, yet groomed brow is where it’s at right now.  Think Cara Delevingne are you’re there. I myself have very light and sparse brows.  Not from overplucking, I just happen to have very light body hair.  This is great when you want to go another day without attending to your leg hair, but not so […]

My Sunday Photo 21st March 2015: Challenging Perceptions

Yes, those are my pasty white thighs next to the gorgeous and tanned Katie Piper (who is one of the nicest people I have ever met). With a teeny size 6 waist and a cute Kylie-esque figure, Katie doesn’t need me next to her to make her look amazing.  Nevertheless here I am, owning who I am and loving who I am, just like all the other girls in todays show. We’re on again tomorrow so full post is to come but for now, here are some news stories. Reveal Cosmopolitan The Mirror Daily Express OK! Daily Mail Daily Mail – […]

Subscription boxes: Which One Is For You?

For those who haven’t seen the ubiquitous subscription boxes that have launched on to the scene over the last year or so, they are essentially boxes of one genre or another; art, play, beauty, teens etc that you subscribe to receive once a month, or sometimes quarterly or bi-annually.  If you have seen them around any thought you’d like to give one a try, the question is, which one to choose? If you wanted to go for something like a beauty and cosmetics subscription box, you are simply spoiled for choice.  I have tried several myself, including Love Me beauty […]

#NOTD Beautiful Blue with Graduated Glitter

My beautiful blue #NOTD With a mid-blue base from Wet and Wild, I took the glamour a step further and went for sparkles. Both glitter topcoats are from Models Own.  The chunky glitter on the accent finger offset the subtle glitter on the majority of my mani beautifully.  This mani lasted more than a week before chipping, and went beautifully with the outfit it was intended for.

#OOTD Evening Glamour With Ann Harvey for Bon Marche and Elvi

When I saw this Ann Harvey Georgette dress and bolero, I thought instant glamour! And that was just what I created with look number 1.  The beautiful fall of the dress was comfortable and super flattering for a wheelchair based look.  Whether you’re a wheelchair user or not, I know you girls can appreciate that your outfit choice would be made that much more difficult if you had to factor on sitting down all night.  Some of the beautiful couture I saw at this event was so stunning, but so styled out I am surprised the girls wearing could […]

REAL Natural Beauty: Love Your Hair Banish Your Grey – Hair Colour

I LOVE natural beauty.  My body is so full of chemicals (medication) that I feel it’s only right to limit the amount of chemicals I put ON my body. Back in May, I had a run in with some very UNnatural hair colour, which was branded to make it seem gentle and nourishing (read full post here), but on closer inspection I found it was full of all sorts of nasty stuff.  I vowed it would be the last time put something on my hair or body without reading the label. My search for natural hair care was very […]

My History of Hair Loss: The Frightning Phenomena of Women Losing Their Hair

Hair loss can be a touchy subject even for men who, to some extent, accept it as a natural part of aging.  For women it can be devastating and really impact self esteem.  Here’s a little bit about my own personal battle with hair loss. Having always had a head full of very thick full hair (which I write about probably all to often), I kind of took it for granted.  Hair loss was, in my mind, something that happened to men as they got older, and was something that would never effect me.  So when, nearly 3 years ago […]

29th July: National Lipstick Day – Lucsious Lips Linkup – Pucker Up People

That is right, it’s National Lipstick Day and what better way to celebrate than with a compact mirror in one hand and your fave lippy in another.  Come lunchtime, refresh your lipstick and swap that compact for a chilled glass of something fizzy.  Now you’re talking!   I promised luscious lips, but I’m afraid you will have to make to with mine in what it more a tribute, an ode of you will, to the lip-smackingly gorgeous properties of the humble lipstick.   The above two lip colours are from the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection pictured below    […]
